I recently purchased three large photos [images @ 7.5" x 9.5"] on eBay connected to the Archibald Reid Family (determined to be of Medonte).
Photo #1 is of Archibald & Margaret (McCulloch) Reid at the time of their 50th Anniversary [unmarked, but determined from census, BMD records, LDS site and special cake on table between them in the photo]
Photo #2 is of Archibald & Margaret and their living grandchildren [determined as above, taken at same time as above photo]
Photo #3 is of Janet (Jeanette, Jennet) Buchanna Reid Seagers (1839-1933) [determined as above and photo marked 'Janet Seagers 1839-1929' which suggests it is of Janet in 1929]
I have yet to find the marriage registration for Archibald & Margaret but am guessing it will be in 1838 as Janet, their eldest child, was born in 1839 in Medonte. As Archibald died in 1890 the 2 photos of family predate this by a year or two.
Janet married John Henry Seagers, also of Medonte, in 1870.
I am still searching for more data on the Seagers and Janet's siblings & their families.
If possible I would like to reunite these pictures with a descendant of Archibald & Margaret Reid and/or John & Janet Seagers. I would also like to place real/digital copies of them in an appropriate Simcoe County Archive.
The Janet Seagers photo actually covers three counties, Medonte, Simcoe (where born, raised and married); Rama, Ontario (where most of her children were born and they lived till 1890s); and Hamilton, Wentworth (where she and John ended up, and died, and from whence their children married).
I am hoping you will be able to assist me in this endeavour or direct me to someone who will do so.
