Trying to find any relatives descended from Charles Dube and Rosa Hubbard (?) Charles is my gr grandfather, not sure Rosa is my g-grandmother or not, I do not know how many times Charles was married. His son Fred was my grandfather and HIS son FREDERICK MARSHALL DUBY my Dad. Grandfather Fred was married at age 22 to Lida Louise Pelletier age 14 in Farmington, Ma. and recorded at Chester Ma. Fred Sr. abandoned Lida with five small children and disappeared and never contacted or supported his family after that. We Believe that since grandfather was only in his thirties when he ran off that it is likely he remarried and had another family. I HAVE A PHOTO OF FRED DUBY SR. at the age of 22 and would be happy to share if anyone would like to compare information. Thank you for any information. Charles and Rosa born around Joliette, jAtae Anne or Ste ' Melanie. Please contact Patricia.

I'm searching for my full brother born before our parents were married. They married in 1955. Since they met in 1953, my guess is that the baby boy was born in 1953 or 1954. I do not have the date, or name. My Mother moved from Nova Scotia, away from her family when she found out she was pregnant. She never told her parents. She did tell her sister. She moved to Montreal and was working for Bell Telephone. She was staying with a couple as a boarder while she was pregnant. The adoption was private and the story is that the baby boy was adopted by some friends of the couple that owned the home where she was living. The adoptive family may have been Jewish, and perhaps the couple where she boarded. I was born in 1967 and I did not find out I had a full brother until I was an adult. My Mother passed away in 1974 so we have no way of finding even a birth date. Father (deceased). Cecil Allan Zimmer - Hazel eys, brown hair - 7/22/1932 born in Bruno, Saskatchewan, Canada. Mother (deceased) Beryl Elaine Smith - Brown eyes, brown hair- 2/19/1935 born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Please contact Stefanie.

I am a male born 20 June 1962 in Montreal. I was briefly in foster care and then adopted through the Red Feather Agency, which at the time was a service run by the Salvation Army. The adoption was finalized (I believe in Montreal, but possibly the Eastern Townships area) in late 1962 or very early 1963. I have very little background information, and what I do have has not been verified. There is a possibility that my birth name was John Lawrence (or Laurence) Birth mother may be of Scottish or Irish heritage and father French-Canadian (again, none of this is known for sure). I have a distinguishing birthmark on the back of one hand. Not looking to be a burden in anyones life, just want to know something about where I came from. Please contact Chuck.

My birth mother was named Deborah. She was Jewish and came from Alberta. She gave birth to me at the Salvation Army Catherine Booth Hospital in Montreal on Nov 21, 1959. She named me Michael Joseph at birth. There was a Jewish Adoption agency that handled my adoption. I have an old letter that records that she inquired about me for over a year after my birth, that she was depressed. Then one day she stopped writing. I assume she had moved on. I am 49 years old now and have always wondered what happened. At my age, I may not be able to actually meet or be given the chance to know her. I fully understand this. Some additional info was that she sang in the Jewish Choir in Edmonton or Calgary and that she worked in the dental field. I too sing, am a concert pianist and have been musical all of my life; something I believe she gave me. Please contact Ian.

Looking for info on John and Jane Langford. The Langford's came from Wales to Montreal in the late 1800's. John worked as the groundskeeper at Mount Royal Cemetery. I believe they may have lived in a property on the cemetery grounds (probably around 1904). The Langford's raised Jane's nephew, Stanley Davies, who was my father. I have a certificate from a school in Outremont (called Strathcona) in 1903 when Stanley graduated from primer school. Both John and Stanley were members of a Masonic Lodge in Quebec. I think sometime in the late 1920's Stanley left Canada to work as a landscaper in the Detroit Michigan area. Jane at some time suffered from melancholy depression and lived at the Verdum Protestant Hospital until her death in 1940. I'm not sure when she went there, but she was 83 when she died. I also believe she had other relatives from Wales living in the Montreal area. I believe John died around 1950 somewhere around Ontario. I know jane is buried in Mount Royal Cemetery and I believe John may be there, as well. Please contact David.

Looking for info into Denis McNamara who arrived from Ireland in 1805 with the 100th Irish Regiment of Foot (disbanded as the 99th). His wife was Jane Evers with whom he had a daughter Mary Ann baptized Dec 15, 1916 at Fort George, Ont. Family records state that they had a son Thomas Anthony McNamara born Sept 16, 1823 in Longueuil, Quebec and died 6 May, 1880 in London, Ont. Thomas married Martha Ann Walters (d/o William Walters and Jane Morrison) May 30, 1852 in Cayuga, Ont. This marriage produced 12 children. To date I am unable to confirm a birth record, or death record for Denis McNamara. Another family record states that Denis remarried in 1821 to Mary Ann Walsh at Notre Dame de Quebec (I have found a record of this marriage) which would mean Thomas was their son. A daughter, Marie Henriete was born in Montreal. Please contact Sandra.

I am a female born Nov 23, 1962 at the Jewish General Hospital and adopted privately to a Jewish family in Montreal and still looking for any info regarding my birth family. I don't want to invade anyone's life, I'm just looking for basic info about who I am and where I come from. Adoption arranged between birth mother's doctor at the hospital and a lawyer named Abe Shuster, now deceased. There is a possibility that I may have had a hospital bracelet with the name Margaret Baker stuck to me when I came home from the hospital. From the way the story has been told to me over the years, it seems possible that my birth mother may have been from Ontario and was likely young. If anyone has any possible info regarding this adoption, even if it feels like a long shot, please contact me. Please contact Shari.

As the story goes when my grandmother and grandfather lived in Canada, my grandmother wanted to move back to the US, and my grandfather (Edward Claing) did not, so my grandmother left him and came back to the U.S. If anyone knows of any of my "Joyal" decendents starting with my grandfather, I would appreciate it. Please contact Ms46north@wmconnect.com.

Looking for the birth parents and any branches or twigs of Renee Daignault born in Montreal Aug 30, 1934. She was baptised at Notre Dame. Her father may have been named Frederic. She has no memory of her birth mother. Renee went to an orphanage at about age 4, so maybe 1938. I believe it was St. Cunegond (St. Cunegonde). She was severely hunchback and underwent surgery while at the orphanage. Renee is my mother (now Veronica Hornbostel). She was adopted at about age 10 and the orphanage later burned down. My mom said the orphanage was a hospice for children and old people. Does anyone have info about St. Cunegond? Mom became a naturalized US citizen in 1976, but never found a birth cert. Where do I go to find this info? I would dearly love to give her a reason why her father gave her up - did he die? What happened to her mother? Becasue she needed surgery, was this the only way to get it done? My mom remembes walking to a church (alone at such a young age!) near her home. Any help would be appreciated. We know the orphanage was Roman Catholic, run by nuns (I don’t know what order), and possible French-speaking. I have been researching St. Patrick’s Orphanage, but I’m not sure that’s where she was. A George Currie was born in Montreal around 1824 either of Scottish or Irish descent. He was from the Church of England. Around 1851, he married Bridget Spooner Pearson in or near Buckingham, Que. She was Catholic. Her first marriage was to a William Pearson, also Protestant. He died in 1844 and is buried at St. Stephen's Anglican Cemetery in in Buckingham (now part of the metro Gatineau area) east of Hull. George Currie died on 9 Aug 1875, age 51, in Buckingham; buried at St. Stephen's Anglican Cemetery. Bridget Spooner Pearson Currie died in 1891 and is buried at Ste. Gregorie's Catholic Cemetery in Buckingham. Sons born to them in this order were my g-grandfather William Henry Currie in 1853, George in 1854, John Thomas in 1859, and Stephen Miles Currie in 1862. Perhaps the family used Irish naming patterns. However, was it not possible for mixed marriages in Quebec during those years? How then did marriages take place? Christening records in Montreal have not proven fruitful. Any suggestions on how to proceed? Please contact Dan.

I lost my Dad in March 2001 to cancer, we were very close; and although I have been seeking info concerning my biological dad, no other info is forth coming from my family. I am currently married 21 years with 2 beautiful boys and although I was married in Deschenes (Aylmer) Que., I use the name of Armstrong as my last name. I am now living in the province of New Brunswick (16 yrs). I would certainly love to find my biological father and any siblings I may have! I would certainly love to find a Sister! Please contact Margaret.

Looking for anyone who is related to a George Alfred Moreau. He was born 1900-1906 in either Quebec or Ottawa. He claimed it was Nov 15, 1906. His father was George or Alfred Moreau and his mother was Laura Jean both born in Que. He had a sister who played piano and a brother. He left home in Ottawa after a fight with his parents and didn't return to our knowledge. He has just said that he was born in the Ottawa Valley in 1906 but these records don't show that. He was a cook, worked in the mines, in logging and outfitters camps as such. He spoke French and English and wrote songs. He talked very little about his past. We are thinking that some, most or all of the info is not true. Hopefully not!! He married in Fort William in 1936 and died in Fort William in 1943, which is now Thunder Bay, Ont. My husband was 5 at the time so he is very anxious to find out any info about his father that he can. Please contact Ron or Cathy.

About 1928, my now deceased aunt had a baby in Quebec-maybe at La Creche?. She was born in Berlin, NH, but since she got pregnant out of wedlock, she was sent on 'grande vacance' to secretly have the child. She did this, and returned to NH. I believe she went to the Quebec City area, though I am not certain. She had a female child. My aunt's name was Mabel Dion (her parents: Napoleon Dion and Marie Cadorette). No one in my family could be hurt by my knowing who this female child, as they are all deceased. I have no great need to know who this female child was, and I certainly do not want to interfere in her life. I just thought, maybe, she would like to see what her birth mother looked like. I also have photos of her grandparents. My mother, Mabel's sister, related this story to me in 1972. Any ideas on how I could proceed on this research project would be appreciated. Please contact Paul.

Looking for my grgrandmother, maternal side. Her father, Harry Carpenter, was born in Stanstead, Quebec abt. 1802. He was married to Ester Wright (1st wife) and had 3 children. Ester died and he married a Angeline Barbeau (2nd wife) in 1847. I have speculated since I cannot find any info about their first child, Diana Carpenter, anywhere in Stanstead, that she may have been an adopted indian child. Harry and Angeline had 6 other children, 4 being born in Stanstead. Charles b. abt. 1851, William abt. 1858, Susan abt. 1863 to name a few. I find a census in Peru, Clinton, New York listing 6 children but not Diana. I can not find any census or adoption records in Stanstead to valid this theory. My Name is Judy Frame. My twin brother and I were born one and half months premature June 1958. We were born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Quebec city and then were placed at the Creche St. Vincent de paul Orphanage. Before our adoption we were named Marie-Claudette and Joseph-Claude Bertrand. Our birth mother gave her written authorization for our adoption on July 2, 1958. My twin brother is dying and does not have long to live. It would mean so much to him to know about our birth mother. I know this is something that might not happen, I just thought it is worth a try, maybe someone know something of our birth. Please contact Judy.

I've been looking for the Robert Colbert family for many years and have found that they had come from Montreal Que. The oldest info I have is that of Robert A. Colbert born in 1868. The census says he was born in Canada as was his father whose name not shown. Robert married Sarah Parker c1898 if the census is correct. Their sons Robert and William were born on Nov 4, 1893 and 1898, respectably. The 1901 Montreal census didn't show Sarah but her sister Abigail Parker 19 years old along with the father and 2 sons. On the 1920 the family emigrated to the US Potsdam NY in 1905. Now Robert's wife was Clara and she was born in NY. It also showed William as single. Robert the son was listed on the 1920 Illinois census and was at Camp Grant in the Army. Ten years later on the 1930 census the father owned a farm and was living with his son William, Williams wife Anna and their 3 children, Edward, Marguerite and William. Robert left the military sometime before his marriage on Mar 17, 1921 to Marie. They had 5 children, Robert, Donald, Cleo, Raymond and Shirley. We are the children of Donald. I've been stuck for awhile now and would like to locate the final resting places of the prior generations and our grandfather Robert. Does anyone recognize anyone from this family? I also have much conflicting info. Please contact Sharyn.

I am desperately trying to locate ancestry of my g-g grandparents who moved to Manitoba late 1800’s. Their names were Francois Desrochers and Therese Roy. I have been told that they came from the Drummondville, Quebec area. I’ve hit a brick wall with them. I may have a bite on Therese Roy’s parents, but still checking. With the Desrochers I’m not sure if he was from the Houde (also my ancestry) family or from the Brien-Desrochers. I’m hoping that someone in Quebec has access to records that would indicate their parents names, or any info that would help me continue this search. I’m not sure if the stories over the years are right but the Desrochers apparently came from France and originally settled in Nova Scotia around 1700. Please contact Lynne.

Looking for info on my grandmother Edith Palmer who came from Bedfordshire England, having been trained as a ladies maid. She arrived in Quebec and found employment in the home of the then governor general of Canada, am not sure if that is Montreal or Quebec city. I do not know the Governor Generals name for that time period, nor the parish location either. Grandmother would have been living there about 1905 to 1910 and she was Church of England (Anglican) near as I know. As a single girl she had a child while living in Quebec but no more is known. She did have a sister who married and lived in Montreal and perhaps she would have gone there. Would that child have been registered somewhere? What were the traditions of the day for unwed mothers and their babies? Was there documentation kept? Where would I look for that childs birth records and to find what happened to that little person. Please contact B. Clark.

Looking for anyone who might know something. Two children placed in care with a couple (William and Lou (WALLACE) DICKSON) in Montreal North. The first child Dorothy HIGGINS was 5/6 and William was 4/5/. Their biological parents were John Higgins (son of William Higgins and Blanche LANCTOT) and Mary WHITE (daughter of Agnes CAMPBELL and Robert White). William Dickson used to go to a train station every week and pickup money for them. The money stopped but they remained with the Dickson’s and were sent to school and told to use the name Dickson. William was a chauffeur for Molson Brewery. We believe that John HIGGINS remarried a Rosemary SHEEHAN in Grandy Quebec and Mary (Marion) WHITE married a Joseph TROTTIER in Lacute, qb. ANY INFO ON ANY OF THESE PEOPLE WOULD BE GREATEDLY APPRECIATED. Please contact Cathy.

Seeking to make contact with the descendants of GIOVANNI GIGLIOTTI, GIUSEPPE CALARICO, and BRUNO PIETRO. When they were in their twenties, they had emigrated with my father, PASQUALE CRITELLI,(who was a boy) from Cicala, Catanzaro, Calabria to Montreal. In the ship's manifest, all had listed my grandfather, ANTONIO CRITELLI, as their cousin and as their contact in Montreal. His address in Montreal (in 1909) is listed in the manifest as what appears to be 518 St. James St. Shortly after their arrival, my grandfather was killed in a train explosion or mine explosion while building the railroad. They may have traveled with my father to Quebec and Toronto or my father may have ran to these cities. Eventually my father was placed in an orphanage. As a young man, my father immigrated to the United States without any family members. My father may have had a wife and child in Canada as a young man. Please contact Patricia.
