My name is Paul Bastarache. I used to live on the current Mill Street West, Saint John, New Brunswick. At the time it would have been in Fairville & from 1953 would have been in Lancaster. I believe the area was amalgamated with Saint John in 1967 to become part of Saint John West. I was born on Sept 23, 1948. Our family lived at 488 Mill Street where the Irving tissue plant is now located just after the tracks. I am trying to locate/contact any of the families who lived on Mill Street at the time that I did. All of the properties on Mill Street were purchased by Mr. Irving by the end of the 1950s. We moved from Mill Street in the summer of 1958 to a house on Manawagonish Road where the current St. Rose’s School is located. We lived there for one year only & moved to Glenburn Court in the summer of 1959. Not one single house remains on Mill Street, from the pulp mill right up to Main Street West. Not even the hill, which used to go from the tissue plant to the pulp mill, exists. It was trucked away one load at a time to create the plateau that exists today. Some of the family surnames that I can remember would include the following: Geary, Hammett, Normandeau, Allain, (Mennier: may be misspelled), Hagarty, Murphy, Fitzgerald & McGee. There are others I don't recall. St. Rose’s School (grade 1 to 8) was next to our house. A photo of the school is in the entrance of the current St. Rose’s School on Manawagonish Road next to Barnhill Memorial School. I would love to arrange a get-together for sometime down the road, if possible. We could share stories & photos. If someone does not do something to preserve the memory of Mill Street, then it will disappear forever. I have done some research on the subject & have been unable to find anything of any significance. I believe that a small & memorable community existed on Mill Street & its memory should be preserved. I am currently living in Fredericton, N.B. If anyone reading this attended St. Rose's School on Mill Street & has any stories or photos please contact me. If anyone with the above names shares my history with Mill Street please contact me.
Please contact Paul.

Trying to connect with my birth parents or family members. I was Born Stephen Morris in Saint-John, NB., back on Dec 28, 1961. I was adopted early in my life (6-13 months old) by a military family in Oromocto/CFB Gagetown area. I have been unsuccessful in obtaining any results from previous searches, and am hoping someone from that era and area may remember a girl with the last name of Morris, whom was pregnant in 1961, and gave birth around Christmas. I am not looking for profit, i am simply trying to reconnect and hopefully obtain life-saving heredity info, as i am now approaching my fifties. Any contact info would be greatly appreciated. My name is Leo Bernier (adopted name) and would love any and all assistance in reaching my goal. If you have access to print or electronic media, which could broadcast this info, i would be willing to speak 'On-Air' if required, and will travel.
Please contact Leo.

Searching for siblings born somewhere in the 1940s in St-John New-Brunswick and maybe also in Montreal Qc. I was also given up for adoption in 1949 but I found my biological family. My mother unfortunately has passed away. Apparently, my mother was seen in the early 1940s (few years before my birth) in St-John NB. pregnant and penniless. My uncle gave her some money but he never saw her again. I am looking for that sibling. My mother's maiden name was NEWTON. There is a chance that that child would be from the same father as me. Reason is that my mother had lived with my father for 4 years before having me. She was 23 years old in 1949. She weight about 100 pounds and was 5'3''. Brown hair, brown eyes. She was born in NB and spoke english. My father (in case it's the same man) was french canadian 12 years older than her. We found a picture in my mother's photographs of a little girl that looks exactly like me and like her sister but it is'nt us. On the back of the picture it says Fleurette. If this sounds like the info that you have of your birth parents please get in touch with me.

He was told by his adopted mother (Hazel Logan) that he was the youngest of 6 children. His adopted father name was Arthur Logan. Following my dad's adopted mothers death, he was given his birth cert. His given name was Richard Poore. He was born on Sept 23, 1931. The birth cert lists his name as Richard Poore (Quartermain). Perhaps someone out there knows if that is how it would be listed on a birth cert at that time - the moms name first and then the dad's or vice versa. I would appreciate any info. Dad lives just down the street from the old orphanage and has had a happy life but I am wanting to make some connections to the family I never had a chance to know. Any info would be great !!

Aboriginal birth mother looking for adopted son.
Born Feb 28, 1977 Saint Pauls Hospital Vancouver BC. Birth Name: Scott Joseph Dick. Name was changed by adoptive parents. Adoptive parents were from the Okanagan area in BC. One was employed in a bank, and the other was a school teacher. I do believe the mother was aboriginal. I also remember a nurse telling me that the baby was born with a stomach infection (an ulcer). With the agreement with the social services I asked to be able to see and hold the baby at least once. They
granted my wish, and I got to spend two whole hours with you, in the social workers office and watched very closely. When they took you I wrapped you in a blanket that I had made it was crochet white and lite green with some yellow. It was not much but it was all I had. If you are out there I would like to let you know that I have never forgotten you. Not a month went by with out my thinking about you. My children that I do have now know about you, and would like to find you.
All I have ever wished for you is a good life which I really hope in my heart of hearts that you really have had.
Please contact Faith.

On Aug 3, 1966 I was admitted to the care of the Children's Aid Society in Scarborough Ontario. I was placed in my adoptive parents home Dec 13, 1966. My birth mother was born and raised in Newfoundland; she was the child of a single mother, and had no info on her birth father. My mother lived with her grandmother until the age of 12. Writing to locate my husband's birth mother or father. He was born in Sept 1968 in Moncton, New Brunswick, birth name Michael Guimond. He could have been born either at the Georges Dumont Hospital or the City Hospital, more than likely the French hospital, Dumont. Believe the mother is from Saint Louis de Kent. She was 18 or 19 when she had Michael. He was subsequently adopted by a couple (Steeves) from Dieppe in June-July 1969. He was in foster care for 9 months. I believe his father was in the navy although I am not sure. His mother had health problems (depression I think). His natural father married another woman he was seeing at the same time he was seeing Michael's mother. His grandfather (his mother's father) spent some time in the Sanitorium outside of Moncton for tuberculosis. Any info would be greatly appreciated. We don't know either of the names for mother or father.

Kennedy, Robert Ignatius, I'm looking for my biological Father, Robert Kennedy. I was born in Halifax Nova Scotia, Aug 1980. My name at birth was Louise Marie Clarke, my birth Mother was Jennifer Maureen Clarke, she had 2 sisters. It is likely that Robert would be unaware of my being put up for adoption as he didn't retain contact with Jennifer after my birth. Robert was in Halifax when I was born, but I believe he was from Thunderbay, Ontario originally so he may be back there, or anywhere for that matter. I also think he had a brother named Christopher. He was 17 I believe when I was born so would be 43 or 44 now. Blonde hair, blue eyes and about 6'1" or 6'2" from what I've been told. If you have any info concerning him, please contact me.
Please contact Lindsay.

My ancestor JOHN GREEN and brother ROBERT GREEN and one other brother (name unknown but elsewhere in connection with them found an M. Green, but also could be James, William, Henry, Vincent, Michael, Maurice), lived in Boston in 1770's, but traded through NS, NB, and on to Placentia, Nfld. (where they settled permanently about 1778). Someone else told me the brothers apparently were listed as having "bought" or "brought" a schooner at Yarmouth, NS, in 1775, but so far I cannot find the record. Does anyone know anything on this?
Also Robert Green in 1778 listed his homes as being Boston, Nova Scotia, and Nfld., three places. Anything, anyone? Also John Green was said to be married, in Boston presumably, to the daughter of a pirate. All very vague, but hoping some researcher might have seen something.

Looking for family members alive or deceased of Ann Marie Mason born Apr 1951 at St John New Brunswick. The family was split up shortly after but one brother is remembered Lawrence, born around 1944 or 1945 who Ann Marie last remembers seeing when his son was just a baby of perhaps 5 months. Ann suffers from Crohns disease and has quite a battle staying healthy. Her health is slowly declining as the disease spreads. She is trying to get info of her early years and to find out if any family remains. Ann lives on the West Coast now, has many friends and honest support from her church and local help groups. She is contemplating a trip back to New Brunswick and would appreciate anyone who has knowledge of the family to contact her through me. I am her friend, Brenda Firth in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

GREENE family, Point Verde, Placentia, Newfoundland. Looking for genealogy info. Any people with this Point Verde Greene ancestry, please contact me so we can swap family info. Our ancestor, JOHN GREEN (apparently Quaker) came, with his brother ROBERT from BOSTON abt 1778 to Placentia, Newfoundland. John, Robert, and another brother (name ? James, Henry, William, Maurice, Vincent ?) traded on their schooner in previous years from Boston, through NS and NB to Placentia,NF, (but that third brother did not move to Placentia. Maybe stayed in NS or Boston ?) Eventually, early 1790's, John married the widow of his good friend JOHN CORBIN. They raised a fairly large family plus JOHN CORBIN Jr., the Widow Corbin's son. Also want to hear from all CORBINs descended from John Corbin Jr. as they are of course my relatives, same female ancestor.
Also does anyone know who was Mr. M. Green, to whom the land called Point Verde Peninsula was sold in 1803 ? This was same land later passed on by John Green to his children.( The "e" in Greene was added in Point Verde to fit in with mainly Irish population).
Also all JUDGE families of Nfld., as almost all are related to me. In this section I also need a Mary Ellen Miller, of Mi'Kmaq ancestry married to my GGF in 1857. Probably Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, mainly.

I'm searching for the family of ETHEL ROBERTA (BOBBI) PENNEY. Her married name was Wheeler. She now lives in Newfoundland (BOI area - Irishtown?). She came from Newfoundland to Toronto sometime in 1954, lived with a sister and then gave birth to me, Sandra Ruby Penney, Dec 1954 at Grace Hospital and I was put up for adoption. She remained in Ontario, met a man and had subsequent children. I am searching for these half brothers and sisters. As far as I know, they numbered 6 - one of them, a girl, was killed while a teenager. They lived in Scarborough, Ont. and attended David and Mary Thomson Secondary School during the 70s. Unfortunately, my siblings are unaware of my existence. I am hoping that someone who knows the family will contact me with some info. Perhaps someone who attended Thomson will remember a family of 6 brothers and sisters. I am only trying to tie up some loose ends in my life. I am 51 years of age now, a grandmother of 6, living and working as an artist in Ont. It would be wonderful just to actually meet someone to whom I am related - I understand we share many attributes. I am an artist and a musician. I look like my birth mother Bobbi, whom I met through Childrens Aid in Toronto some 15 years ago. It was at this time that she told me about my siblings and that they never knew about me. She is a very nice woman and was delighted to meet my 2 children at that time. Attitudes have changed very much through the years - I am sure that my siblings would not be judgemental (they are grown adults) - but very curious, as I am, to meet another sibling. I look forward to receiving any info that can be sent my way. Many thanks.
